As gross as these stains are, they are an extreme example of nostalgia trumping condition. And I don’t know about other collectors, but I definitely prefer tobacco juice to the stains that are on the Kahn’s hot dog cards!

As gross as these stains are, they are an extreme example of nostalgia trumping condition. And I don’t know about other collectors, but I definitely prefer tobacco juice to the stains that are on the Kahn’s hot dog cards!

Those cards are great. I view card collecting as a hobby and really don't care if everything is mint. I also think that nostalgia plays a big role in whether I display a card or not. I just know that the rougher stuff looks better on my shelf then my graded cards in hard plastic, those usually just go into one of my boxes.
