The 70th Anniversary of "The Streak"

Joseph Paul DiMaggio.  

Whatever name you choose to use, this is the hero of a whole generation of baseball fans.  This past weekend, on July 16, commemorated the 70th anniversary of the end of a hitting streak likely never to be seen again.

# 274 Joe DiMaggio XRC - 1938 Goudey Heads Up

In 1941, Joltin' Joe DiMaggio reeled off a string of hitting in 56 straight games. Amazingly enough, after "The Streak" ended, DiMaggio would start another 16-game hitting streak his next appearance.  This means that the Yankee Clipper would have a hit in an astonishing 72 out of 73 games!

Preparing For The National Card Collectors Convention

Dean's Cards is currently scheduling appointments to meet with sellers at the NSCC show.  Dean and his gang will be in Chicago for 2011 National Card Collectors Convention on August 4^th and 5^th and we are looking to buy just about any card from 1869 to 1969.

With over one million vintage cards for sale, Dean’s Cards sells more vintage cards than any other dealer.  To do so, we must buy a lot of cards.  Dean’s Cards buys over 500 vintage collections each year and is looking to add to that number in Chicago this summer.
